Bingo is one of the most popular games ever, and it’s no surprise that people have tried to develop strategies about how to win bingo games. One of the most discussed theories is the Granville theory, which suggests that having a variety of different types of numbers on your bingo card is the key to success.

In this article we’ll explain how the Granville theory works – or rather, how it doesn’t work! We’ll then provide some tips on how to make the most out of playing bingo online, without giving yourself a headache with mathematical theories and strategies!

Disclaimer: Bingo Strategies Don’t Work!

Before we get started, we want to clarify a few things. The most important is that all outcomes in bingo are completely down to chance. While it may seem like the Granville method (or any other theory) is a good strategy, the truth is that it’s impossible to determine which numbers will be called.

Although using strategies like this can feel exciting and empowering at first, it’s important not to let them give you false confidence. Always remember that no bingo strategy or theory can guarantee you a win – particularly when you’re aware of the casino’s house edge, which ensures that in the long run the casino always has the advantage.

When playing online bingo – or any other online game, for that matter – remember to always gamble responsibly. Never spend more money than you can afford to lose, and never treat gambling like a profession or a way to make money.

What Is the Granville Method?

The Granville method was developed by financial writer and analyst Joseph E. Granville. He believed that the best bingo cards would be those with a good balance of even and odd, high and low numbers.

How It Works

The Granville method essentially advises having a good variety of different numbers on your bingo card. It suggests that as the game goes on, an equal number of balls should be called that are high and low, and odd and even.

He also found that numbers ending in different digits tend to be called an equal number of times as the game progresses. For example, over time the same amount of numbers ending in 2 should be called as those ending in 3, and so on.

According to this theory, it’s best to have a mix of high and low and even and odd numbers, with numbers ending in different digits.

Why Granville’s Theory Doesn’t Work

Although the Granville method is interesting, in a real bingo game it doesn’t work! Most online bingo games don’t give you the option to choose your bingo cards, meaning that you would be unable to select what Granville would consider a favourable card – with a variety of different numbers on it.

It’s also important to remember that despite Granville’s theory, in reality each number in the pool has an equal chance of being called. For example, in a 90 ball bingo game each ball in the first call has a 1 in 90 chance of being called, each ball in the second call has a 1 in 89 chance, and so on.

There are also a number of other variables that can affect the probability of winning a bingo game, from how many tickets each player has bought to how many players there are in the game, etc.

How to Make the Most of Playing Online Bingo

Although strategies like the Granville method aren’t of any use in online bingo, there are a few things you can do to make sure you have a great gaming experience:

Bet responsibly

One of the most important things to do when gambling online is to choose a sensible budget - and stick to it. This means only betting within your means, and never spending more than you can afford to lose. Get to know the game

With so many different online bingo games out there, it’s important to make sure you understand the rules of the one you’re playing. Find out how prizes are won in your game - for example, if there are prizes for one line, two lines, or only a full house, what time the game starts, and what the minimum and maximum ticket prices are.
